Not long ago we reviewed the Canon PIXMA MG4150, mid-range all-in-one and PIXMA MG4250 is already available to replace it. Apart from the case, which was a pleasant textured black rather than flashy, shiny black predecessor, there did not seem to be much difference between the two.

The top of this simple box has a lid sized scanner - by extending hinges, so you can scan books and magazines - the right of the control panel, which runs in a strip from front to back.
At the rear is a hinged LCD color, 62mm, linked to the three key functions of 'soft' just in front and a series of other buttons, control the work start and cancel and menu navigation. Clever click-wheel PIXMA MG4150 is replaced by a simple five square button on this machine; uncomfortable.

Then there's the Quick system tray front paper; more than Big front, really. Fold down the front cover and form a paper feed tray, which can take up to 100 sheets. A secondary tray folds down behind it and extends through a telescope, though not enough to support the entire page output.

To correct this, additional support play of the front edge of the feed tray with a flip-up stops at the end. It was all a bit convoluted and almost double the depth of the current printer is used.

Pas cartridges involve folding down the front panel intern, in which the paper trays are hinged, and they slid horizontally. simple retention clip then click into place, a bit like the followers of seats on a trip to Alton Towers.

software packages including My Image Garden, household applications photos, and Quick Menu, which puts the molding tool useful in the menu L-shaped mirror on the bottom left of the desktop. Access to the My Image Garden is bound to use genuine Canon cartridges - consumables use a third party and will not let you in.

Interface color-schemes in both devices, light on dark gray, did not help. Colour graphics are solid and smooth, although there is some loss of color depth in color copies. Photo printing is excellent, with smooth color transitions and better natural pastels and bright primary where needed.

Twin cartridges, one black, the other tri-color, available in two capacities. It is a shame to have a single tri-color cartridge, as this may cause the ink wasted, if the use of color ink is incompatible with the Canon models. The first ink runs out of troops from the entire cartridge replacement.
Using a version of the high-yield consumables, which offers ISO 600 black and 400 pages color ISO, provide cost 3.7p and 7.9p page. This is a good cost, lower then some rivals, though still not as good as the equivalent of the Kodak printer.

Download / Installation Procedures

1. Download the file. For the location where the file is saved, check the computer settings. 

2. Double-click the downloaded file and mount it on the Disk Image.

3. Double-click the mounted Disk Image.

4. Double-click the "Setup" file to launch the setup screen. By following the instructions on the screen, install the software and do the connection settings for your printer.
