For many people, the Canon PIXMA iP8750 photo printing house is a small family rushed out problems locked with A4 portrait occasionally for special occasions memorable. For more dedicated photographer and illustrator, something bigger with a greater degree of quality control is called for and this is where the new Canon PIXMA iP8750 moves into the frame. As potential owners, this is a no-nonsense, no-frills machine that is focused on the job in hand - which makes high-quality photos up to A3 + size. He set this while still remaining stylish in jet black with a subtle weave pattern on the top surface. It's not too heavy at 8.5Kg, and although it is certainly widespread in 590mm, the iP8750 is only 331mm deep and 159mm high.
Where you install it may need about twice as much depth as the fold back into the paper support and extend down to the front cover down to reveal the output tray area. There is no control over, just the cover that conceals the ink tank that houses six individual cartridges - the usual cyan, yellow, magenta and black dye and a black pigment (for documents) and gray. To the right of the output tray is just three control buttons for Power, Stop / Restart and Wi-Fi sync. Additionally, the USB ports round the back allows for direct PC connection but Ethernet excluded. Printing thus switched to the usual trio of PCs, tablets and mobile phones with support for Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print plus Wireless PictBridge camera. Wireless connecting quicker to build but the time to think before printing on both mobile phones and PCs can stretch for 20 seconds before the action.
If you are thinking of taking your photo on a separate DVD disc tray can then be placed to the front and then shut down rather precariously on the back of the printer when you are finished. It feels like an afterthought that is marked as a gimmick when the main function is to produce beautiful prints.
And there's no denying that the fingerprints on the PIXMA iP8750 is beautiful. With a print resolution up to 9600 x 2400 dpi, the detail in both color and mono (aided by a gray cartridge) outstanding pictures. Black pigment also produces documents that clearly and boldly, while color documents maintain the original brightness and contrast ratio.
Canon PIXMA iP8750 print speeds are fast enough without approaching Formula One - PC originated A4 photo at 1'25 ", 13 x 18cm print in 45" and A3 at 2'35 ", with a 10 x 15cm picture iPhone at 35". Color documents are an average of 10ppm and black and white version is slightly higher at 13 ppm.
As you might expect, Canon has produced a good standard and XL ink cartridges to help with the cost and ink sets XL will set you back £ 100, with a combo CMY average of 374 photos or 670 pages of documents, a black dye 870 photos, Grey 3350 275 page document or photo and PBK 4775 photos.
