When we tested the PIXMA IP110, one of the design features that we consistently appreciated is its ability to be more compact through the use of two folding components. Paper input tray and the output tray both fold out, which makes IP110 much easier to work outside the office or at home, transports than if they are not folding. When the input paper tray folded down, this printer is only 2.5 inches, small enough to fit into a briefcase.
It is one of the smallest printers we reviewed, weighs only 4.3 pounds and measure more than 7 inches. One feature we appreciate is the ability to store up to 50 sheets of paper in the paper input tray. Several competing compact printer can continue to be significantly less, which can be annoying if you have a large print job.
Printer Canon PIXMA iP110 can run off battery power, but you must purchase the battery separately. Setup of the printer hardware is not too complicated, but you should consult with a setup guide, as the printer's small footprint means that the internal layout is a little different from the conventional inkjet
You can send print jobs to the printer in several different ways. First, you can download the drivers and connect directly to the USB cable. However, most people might prefer to use one of several wireless option.
For Apple users, AirPrint wireless printing is the obvious solution. It took us about five minutes to set up the printer using the iPhone, and after that, the printing is very simple, as is usual with AirPrint.
For Android users, wireless printing is a little more complicated. You must use either the Google Cloud Print app or Canon PIXMA Printing Solutions app. Both applications combine to provide equivalent functionality with AirPrint, albeit with slightly less elegance. Google Cloud Print app is quite easy to use, but the PIXMA Printing Solutions app is not very user-friendly.
You can use this wireless printing solution with Apple and Android tablets and smartphones. If you are a PC user, you must connect the printer directly to the home Wi-Fi network. Then, you can print wirelessly from your computer.
The IP110 does not have automatic duplexing, as all printers are comparable in size. If you want to print on both sides of the page, you have to manually turn the paper. Not like the best compact printer on the market, these printers do not have scanning or copying function. Its main function is to be a printing solution that you can easily take it with you.
